Hail Caesar wasn’t one of their best, but I loved Inside Llewyn Davis.
And they’ve made plenty of good comedies - Raising Arizona, The Hudsucker Proxy, O Brother Where Art Thou, A Serious Man, Inside Llewyn Davis

It was alright, didn’t love it, didn’t hate it, made me chuckle a few times
What did you dislike so strongly about it? I can totally get someone being neutral on it but surprised by the vehemence.
Even if all it contained was the “Would that it’were so simple” routine I’d still have had a good time with it.

Thought Hail Caesar was fun in a very traditional sense, i.e. the spectacle of a group of talented people portraying something they knew and took a real enjoyment out of. It was silly and naff and knew it. Feel like people who claim that it’s atrocious could stand to lighten up some.

After being a complete Coen obsessive for years, I’m yet to see either Llewyn or Hail Caesar… dunno why but can’t really be bothered to try either.
