I walked passed there the other week, I’ve never seen it before. My co-walker said “I hate that place just from the name alone”

I’ve gone a done a thread so that’ll sort it out.

I’ve never been in either tbqh but yeah the name alone is enough.

Obviously it’s probably fine. It’s just a cafe isn’t it. Quite like the quirky name tbh, but don’t tell anyone!!!

I’m sure it’s delightful, both shops always seem busy whenever I’ve been passed but I feel you may have opened yourself up to some ridicule here my friend.

If you’re able to happily exist with your own company and nothing but your thoughts for 30mins on a bus, that’s great, no one should have an issue with that.

But I was once on a flight to the US and watched a guy sit, arms crossed, staring at the seat in front of him (screen off), no headphones, not asleep, for the best part of seven hours, and that dude is no doubt an utter danger to society.

ha i didn’t realise they did that scene on Curb as well as Seinfeld, don’t remember it. i often have a book on my lap on long bus journeys but end up just sitting staring out the window.

Oh meant to respond to this because it made me think about how cinema even now is, like computer games, a thing that holds attention. Obviously a few twats sometimes but I’ll sit and watch a film fully that at home I might not give full attention.

Partly maybe that paying directly for a thing is more captivating, partly that the darkness and audio aspect adds?

Equally in the 70s I guess watching films on TV was even less of a thing? So much less impressive, often cut and/or with ads, so full attention wasn’t always there.

I mean people have always complained that Apocalypse Now can be a bit boring and drawn out. I kind of think in the 80s and 90s people would actually just turn off/over when it got dull. Now someone would probably let Apocalypse Now run on while they checked a bit of Twitter, then drop back in once it picked up. Arguably a better situation?

Has anyone claimed the 'if people want to have coffee in a internet free place what the fuck do you care" position?

CEREAL CAFE 4 LYF

Says the guy who sat staring at a stranger for an entire transatlantic flight.

Oooh is this one of @saps’ riddle card things? The seat in front has a mirrored back and hyg is actually staring at HIMSELF!!!

I don’t @eems is that weird. Steady on.

I used to live right by that place. Just getting a coffee could sometimes be an ordeal.
