Been using a hand grinder for a year or so but it was a bit of a ball wrist ache. Then my colleagues bought me an electric one for my birthday. It’s superb

I stopped drinking coffee altogether about 2/3 months ago

feel so much better for it

I miss coffee though :frowning:

my stovetop thing definitely makes the best coffee but i use it about 3 times a year. just a cafetiere wanker mostly. so no, i guess.

i’m going to ask for some coffee wanker things for christmas i think. a new grinder and a proper coffee kettle? lol.

We keep this stuff in stock for emergencies when we run out of the most excessively wanky stuff from the local coffee shop.

I’m that pretentious, yes.

You’re what we all aspire to be.

What grinder are you eyeballing?

Would really love to get an electric one but I think all the really decent ones cost a billion pounds

Handground coffee at home on the weekends. Either brewed in a cafetiere or mokka pot. I’ll buy beans from anywhere and haven’t settled on a bled that I simply NEED to use each time.

Thinking about getting an aeropress for the office. That’s the least hassle method when in the office whilst retaining coffee wanker tendencies, right?

Aeropress is great. Had one for 2 years and it’s what i mainly use for making coffee.

I don’t know. Looking at the manual Hario one…

@anon64105032 what grinder do you have?

We looked at the hario one actually. We ended up getting this one tho -

One of these:

No complaints with it. The burr is obviously better than the blades of my previous grinder.

One thing I did notice, is the beans play a significant role too. Freshly roasted beans are a joy to grind, compared with older staler beans. You can’t really tell when you buy the beans but they look like they have a gloss on them. Bad news

see I’m quite bad with buying beans then only drinking coffee on weekends, so this is something i also need to address

got some black friday deals on some beans from Round Hill roastery, 500g for less than a tenner which isn’t bad  but going to try and use up all our beans first before opening them

just wondering if something like this might be good for me

yeah i’ve been eyeing that up too!

I’m wondering why we didn’t go for the hario one! It’s cheaper and seems to get really good reviews. The one we have is fine, tho the lid came apart pretty much after we got it, its just a simple glue issue that could be fixed (we’re lazy and it still works fine without gluing).

is grinding your own beans actually better or are you just tasting smug self-satisfaction?

I got a coffee grinder for my birthday.

I have also got my coffee machine up and running after descaling it.

I am FULL COFFEE WANKER. When I move into my bfs house, we will have 5 ways to make coffee.

My friend got me a TAMPER/OZONE coffee blend recently from sheffield and it’s the best and I need her to bring me down some beans.

both (yes)

I can notice a difference.

I’m in a state, I can’t find the glass half of my handgrinder so using my electronic one, nearest shop for 45 mins is Also so I’m buying shit Aldi beans and I also cancelled my Pact thing.

Need to get back in the game
