I might drink some over christmas. I actually do have an electric grinder and one of those things you put on the hob with water at the bottom and it makes coffee when you boil it.

Woah woah woah, slow down with the techno mumbo there, coffee professor!

Fuck you.

It was the time I tried the heated seats in my new car for the first time and didn’t realise it had three settings.

I work with someone from Brisbane and only last week she told me (again) the coffee is shit here.

I agree with her, for the record.

My favourite coffee place in all of London is Kiwi

where the f is this?

It’s Ozone on Leonard Street.

Only place I would order a cappuccino from as it’s decent and not a milky cup of disappointment

I agree with where this goes, as it is a consistency thing. Australia has it high, but London is a let down.

I like banging on about how coffee is shit in London compared to the big provincial cities. Adamant that you are much more likely to get excellent coffee in the independent places in Bristol, Bath, Manchester, Cardiff, Birmingham, than you are in London. Seems uniformly average there.

Aeropress in work, Moka pot or v60 at home (depending on how much speed is of the essence). Happy with all three, surprised by how easy and good the v60 is really. People reliant on instant who can’t be bothered with the faff of ground coffee - this is literally pouring water on some coffee. You don’t even need to stir it. I do prefer the “thickness” I get with the moka though. And feeling all manly watching the fire and the steam and stuff. All round if I had to have one coffee maker - Aeropress would do me fine.

Coffee is fairly basic, whatever Lidl has in their range of Columbian or Java or whatever. Less than £2 a pack. I have dabbled elsewhere, I find I get better results with a finer grind than those recommended. I get a creamier cup from an Aeropress if I really have to push the plunger down with force due to fine coffee vs my metal filter thing.

pretty sure this is the grinder i want

Quality burrs

I wish there were more Italian espresso bars in London
Loved just grabbing a €1 espresso it Italy. Properly nice.

Algerian Coffee Stores is one of my favourite insider tips for a £1 espresso in London

used mine this morning. best coffee tbh. get yourself a milk steamer as well and make some amazing cappuccinos at home.

What’s the actual term for it though?

espresso… thing
