I’m thinking of doing a milder sauce for sauce no. 3, whatever that turns out to be. In my head it’s currently as-yet-undecided sauce as a mild-ish, tasty dipping sauce > DSOTB as a spicy all rounder > Lychee Libre as a spice monster. But I’m not settled on that yet.

Are reviews in the form of Simpsons gifs acceptable?

We could set up a DiS Dragon’s Den.

This sounds great, I probably don’t try enough different hot sauces to be a great taste tester, but I’ll definitely order a couple when you get up and running. My GF’s Korean so she lives for spicy stuff.

This reads like you tried to kill Poirot and just discovered you failed.

YAS!

That crafty Belgian Rasputin!

I’m not expecting expert analysis tbf, more like ‘A is definitely nicer than B’ or ‘A is best but needs more kick’ or ‘B was good but it’s too hot oh god my tongue has been numb for a week I need medical attention.’

Welcome and indeed encouraged.

Darkside of the bulb can just be moon themed, maybe something where you cast a garlic bulb in a moon-like setting?

This picture I found gives the vague idea I am trying to convey:

Really excited that you are getting this up and running!

Similarly to scout, my stupid digestive system can’t take real spiciness, but I would be well up for a milder sauce if you ever produced it.

That’s a cool idea - I can’t imagine I’d get sued going down that road. I’m giving my graphic designer a bit of freedom in designing the labels and the logo (I’m afraid I’m getting rid of Bam’s excellent drawing of me, I just can’t face dozens of bottles with my mug on them!) but I think he could do something with that.

If I do settle on a milder third sauce I don’t think anyone would mind if I skipped the random selection process and sent some straight to you to try. It’s the least I can do after you ran such an awesome raffle that pushed me to give this a go in the first place!

Yeah, pretty sure the moon and garlic are both public domain :+1:

I still want to be subject to random selection, I don’t mind if others get it in the test phase and I have to wait for main production to start. I can be patient.

I know I said no earlier but if you do a milder sauce I think I would be an excellent candidate for taste testing.

No dice - I’ll do 1 extra so nobody misses out :+1:

Feel free to change your vote - I’m not 100% sure how I’m gonna run this but I’ll be asking anyone who gets randomly picked what their preferences are. If my feedback is, “I hate this sauce as I hate lychee with every fibre of my being” then it’ll have been a bit of a waste of time.

Best of luck with your venture! I will just wait until you established global hot sauce dominance to buy mine when they come to American supermarkets everywhere…

Also I think Droned in Sauce should be a brand name :joy:

Excellent stuff, mate.

A small logistical hurdle, but one there must be a way around - i’ve found it really bloody hard to transport liquids. I sourced something a while back to resell online. Initially had no issue sneaking them through via Royal Mail, but some stopped turning up, and i started getting letters about sending prohibited goods. Then the same happened with Hermes, and couriers with liquids services were expensive. It’s easy for a residential customer to post the odd tub of something, but they’re a bit keen when it comes to businesses doing it.

You can probably wing it with mainland addresses, but they do spot checks on anything that travels by sea or air - Ireland, some Highlands, Guernsey, Isles, etc. Might be something to bear in mind before you source your bottles, as you might be able to work around them. Royal Mail allow up to four 150ml bottles, as an example, so you could maybe source containers that size and do single bottles and kits of all flavours, idk.

Oh shit, I had no idea that might be an issue. I figured shipping outside the UK would be tricky (though there’s not much point doing my research till after we’ve Brexited - I’ve picked a great time to start a business…) but I assumed I had free reign to post stuff anywhere in Britain. I’ll have to get in touch with Royal Mail and find out what I can and can’t do before I start sending things. 150ml is the size I’m looking at selling in as it happens so I should be ok for the average sale from what you’re saying but if anyone wants to get the most out of their postage fee and buy a batch (and I’d very much like it if the sauces were that popular) I could well run into trouble.

Thanks for the warning man.
