i also thought this for a long time but he’s getting better imo, not very interested in his older stuff but his latest stand up show, book, podcasts and his Taskmaster series have all been good.

God, yes. Nothing worse than a 30-40 something comedian doing a tour about how they’ve had to adjust to becoming a parent (and are, by default, the parent who stays home with the baby)

Unless you’ve recently become a parent in which case you seem to love it.

Didn’t initially like, then did a 180 into loving, now think I’ve overdosed a bit. Find his schtick on Off Menu quite wearisome. Thought initially it was Gamble I’d had enough of (from listening to two other podcasts), but it’s James’s bits that just make me sigh. The “comedy” adverts mainly, especially when there’s like four fucking minutes of them a show. Hate that faux naïvety lark, like a couple of posters on here tbh.

Seems a good egg though, would definitely invite him out for a pint with the lads (and female lads)

Thing about a lot of American stand ups with loads of acclaim is that there’ll be one bit that’s really funny and then you watch a full special and 90 percent of it is just like “now I ain’t got a problem with people who suck a lotta dicks, but I mean come one where’s the quality control eeeehhh”
