I’m assuming you’re not a guilt guy as none of your posts here or in other threads suggest as such, but do you think maybe you taking the album without asking has contributed to you not enjoying it?

Your posts in other threads suggest you are a troll who tries to get under people skin and you don’t feel any guilt about it

Oh boy, the Waterstones description makes it sound like an absolute riot. Supposedly even by the age of 18 he had ‘transformed music’

I gave it my first headphone listen on my lunchtime walk the other day and it’s so good. Loads of bits just made me smile and lots of great lines, he’s still pretty untouchable lyrically. I think it’s up there with his best, although I love them all so it’s hard to rank them.

There’s a lot about his divorce and brothers death in it. Stairwell song is heartbreaking, that bit HYG mentioned: ‘you just packed your things one day, didn’t bother to explain what happened, you like cinematic endings’ - Strings start
Same with Hot Car in the Sun, that really gets me.
Love this line from Death’s Heart too:
‘Ask my love what’s it like to live with me every fucking day but she stays’.

I was surprised that Pagetuners Rag wasn’t an actual song as it’s been mentioned in loads of interviews but I think it works as an introduction. He said that the piano is a sound of happiness for him and you have his mum say talking about this brother etc.

I’d be putting that on my wall and calling it a Rothko.

Oh it’s one of those books.

It’ll prob never happen but Conor’s autobiography would be really interesting.

I think Stairwell Song is up there with some of his best lyrics.

Really like how The Big Picture develops, so I went with that one. The coffee slurping in ATBoE always annoyed me :joy:

So glad I held out and didn’t listen to the leak of this. I’ve ruined too many albums by doing that before, never again.
