There’s nothing really to know beyond what the interface shows you I think, but if you have a question we’ve all played at least one round so can probably maybe answer it!

you get bonus troops for holding each of the regions, indicated at the bottom of the map
you gain spoils for every round where you conquer a territory, and these spoils can be traded in for extra troops once you have 3 of the same colour or 3 different colours
