Copenhagen

This was the other one I was considering but didn’t have as many good reviews.

Also for @marckee and @anon50098204

there are a couple of these kiosks about that do hot dogs for a snack and the veggie/vegan one is sooooo good. Proper nice tofu dog with loads of pickles and mustard and saurkraut

You go through the hostel and out of the back there is a guy who recycles old bikes and they were super comfortable and nice.

urrrrghh i wanna go back so bad!

Denmark’s lovely at the right time of year, if you can get past the constant but faint smell of feces.

I went in December. Just did all the beer shit really - a few Mikkeller bars, the To Ol bar, Warpigs. the meat packing district in general is really fucking cool - had some great tacos there as well. the Mikkeller Ramen Bar is fucking awesome (and my girlfriend sent me outside at the end of the meal so she could ‘surprise’ me with one of their t-shirts, only for one of the staff to come out and get said t-shirt from a basement hatch right next to where I was standing :D). as someone who pays over the odds for beer in London all the time I didn’t find it that expensive unless I intentionally bought stupid shit.

Tivoli was fucking incredibly impressive but it was xmas time - still, it’s literally like a mini Disney in the middle of a city.

The big street food market has closed down now I think, but get the ferry up the river to where the little mermaid is and walk around the mad star-shaped fort - ferry is obviously much cheaper than a boat tour.

This place was awesome - little cafe/bar out on the edge of the water in an industrial part of town with a classic wooden Sauna in a little caravan outside - you can jump in the water afterwards for the shock of your life (I just stayed inside drinking beer): La Banchina

Christiania was shite.

Also - public transport is very good - download the app and you can get the busses all over town very easily, works on the ferry too.

Really loved Copenhagen and essentially hate travelling so it must be better than I generally thought.

Oh this is good timing as my mates just started organizing a trip for his 30th.Went last December and thought it was great. A few of the highlights

https://restaurant-mes.dk/ - Run by an ex Noma chef like a lot of the restaurants seemed to be. Got fairly pricey after we added matching wines and other drinks but was really nice and a bit different. Has a wall of moss.

http://manfreds.dk/en/restaurant/ - Good value for lunch on a weekday and open on a monday which lots of other places weren’t. Lots of interesting things with veg plus really good steak tartar.

http://www.ologbrod.dk/ - Owned by Mikkeller and next to their bar. Had a traditional Christmas meal here and they were pretty generous with the akavit.

https://tapperietbrus.dk/ - Mainly went here for beer and they had a load of To Øl ones on but also got some really nice food.

Tivoli was lovely and really Christmasy but don’t know what it is like the rest of the year. The wooden rollercoaster was better than I thought it was going to be.

Good view from the top of the round tower and there is a weird gallery.

The little mermaid is a bit rubbish but the star shaped fort it is by is pretty cool and you can see the ski slope on top of a power plant from there.

Seen other people mention it but the big street food place shut down as they are redeveloping that island. I was lucky someone told me before we planned to go over there.

Went to Ol og Brod in December and saw the xmas feast menu and got mega excited before realising there was no veggie option for my friend so we had to leave. One of the saddest moments of my life :disappointed_relieved:

Brus is definitely worth a visit, also while doing Mikkeller tours fit in the Ramen place because the Ramen is AWESOME

There was me being a bit annoyed that we had a late table and couldn’t get the huge menu and only got the big one.
Most places seemed really good at having vegetarian options. Did you find somewhere else good to go?

Bump, going in May.

This is some craic up here: Church of Our Savior | Church | VisitCopenhagen

I’m going for a day next month (Going to Malmo and seemed silly not to at least see it) so this is very handy. Ta.

And if anyone has Malmo tips, even better!

Go the Designmuseum and look at the amazing chair collection, then round the corner there’s a really lovely friendly pub called The Black Swan, had a great afternoon.

Might bob over to Malmo for a day.

I’ve been to Denmark twice and on both occasions i saw someone doing a jobby in the street literally within minutes of arriving. That’s all i’ll say.

Ive also been twice and never seen street shitting.

Loved that that place:

Also Warpigs/The Meat Packing District, and Tivoli, are well worth a visit.

The taco place near Warpigs that was on Ugly Delicious
Walking round that big cemetery and the big Mikkeller by it
The Evil Twin bar
Danish pastries from the big food market

They should stick that in the ads.

Denmark - you might not see a grown man having a jobby.
