They’re basically paying for the conversation not the results. If the votes go badly today then there’s a list of alternative candidates in the public realm for people to talk about.

We were reasonably confident about Hillary and Brexit Geoff!

Is Brexit Geoff regular Geoff’s racist brother?

Yeah I suppose although UKIP’s by-election performances in this parliament have been poor so at least there’s a bit of evidence backing this hunch up!

What sort of wanker likes Sadiq Khan?!

Jesus, this country.

I’ve got a theory that you can tell a good MP just by looking at a photograph, or at least make a decision on whether somebody is trustful or has other human qualities.

Off the photos above, i’d stake money on Thornberry, Lewis, Cooper and Burnham being the best of the bunch. Genuinely know nothing about these people beyond Burnham once being the MP for…Leigh, possibly, some sort of Minister for sport and having something to do with the Hillsborough verdict. Cooper…i think, lost to Corbsta in his first leadership election. Lewis has recently resigned. That aside, nothing.

Just to test my theory, how does this complete guesswork rate compared to doing proper research?

I mean it’s about as much research as the average voter so might as well roll with it.

He’s got that classic everyman vibe about him, though. Has he done anything to prove himself inherently untrustworthy, or has he got any shady views? I genuinely don’t know either way. Seems quite unpopular in Manchester.

He’s just a boring quisling Blairite, aside from being loud on Hillsborough, he’s done nothing of note despite a stint at health secretary. Feels like he’s already had his time.

Seems like a pretty weird thing to say. Silly man.

That’s practically Reaganesque.

Dimbleby on QT just said it’s looking like Labour have held Copeland

Dont brexit me, bro

but…

Seems to be consensus now that Copeland’s gone Tory.

aye, but that Labour have held Stoke…

Bit of a deputy head vibe about Snell. Was it a surprise that UKIP were close to being pipped to second by the Conservatives?

Guessing that’s it for Corbyn then, or should be really

Emily Thornberry please Clive

Let’s think about this. Labour lost a seat, in a by-election, to the sitting government, and where the NHS was the biggest local concern.

That is bleak.

The Stoke result holds no positives either. I don’t know how anyone can make a case for Corbyn remaining. Even “well who’s going to replace him” doesn’t hold given this.

Yeah.

About all Stoke shows is few people switched from Labour to UKIP (phew) but doesn’t seem anyone was won back either.
