Sounds absolutely nothing like the original & more than a little self indulgent… but just fantastic

I don’t know why they used a drum machine on ‘Darklands’ and ‘Automatic’. The drums on ‘Automatic’, in particular, sound pretty awful. Good songs on it though. ‘Here Come Alice’, ‘Blues Form A Gun’, ‘Halfway To Crazy’, ‘Head On’.

‘Step On’ is one of those songs that should sound dated and tied to the era, but is just still sounds brilliant.

That’s great but hats off to Harrison for spotting a song that he could transform and which fitted perfectly to his strengths.

Bobby Gillespie left to focus on Primal Scream and they couldn’t find anyone they were comfortable with working with (they are both notoriously introverted) so took the ‘easy’ option of going for the drum machine. Apparently their record company tried to talk them out of it as it damaged their burgeoning appeal in The US where drum machines marked you out as not being a ‘real’ band…

Yeah, i know that Gillespie left and all that, however, for a band like The Jesus & Mary Chain, who were generally always looking back to a ‘golden era’ of rock n roll, deciding to use a drum machine just seems like an odd decision for them.

Faintly embarrassed to say I’ve never heard this until now. It’s really good. Still prefer the JMC one though I THINK

Torn by Natalie Imburglia
She’s The One by Robbie Williams
I Am The Walrus by Oasis

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Heard it Through the Grapevine

Also, Cum on feel the Noise by Oasis

Every cover by The Smashing Pumpkins. I’ll start off with three classics from the Siamese Dream era.

Landslide (Fleetwood Mac)

Dancing in the Moonlight (Thin Lizzy)

Never Let Me Down Again (Depeche Mode)

Billy’s fantastic electro-shoegaze cover of the Bee Gees’ “To Love Somebody”

I bloody love Kirsty but there’s no way that’s ‘far better’ than the original

I’d actually nominate A New England over this for sure

There are at least three versions of that song that are better than the original (CCR, Marvin Gaye, The Slits)
