Was in a band called crypts but it was pretty crap. Just him and a guy on a laptop last I saw.

ah yeah, I do vaguely remember listening to a couple of tracks of theirs and not being particularly impressed now you mention it. That was a little while ago though, doesn’t look like he’s done anything since either

To Biffy’s credit, that cover does at least attempt to do something different with the song.

On the downside though, it just sucks all of the power pop joy out of it.

Cat Power - everything on the Jukebox album. In contrast to The Covers Record which is great.

This cover is hot fire, so angry at this take

I mean it has no particular reason to exist but that’s true of almost everything

Oh god yeah, seeing her touring that album was hard work even by Cat Power gig standards

Going on record again as stating that their first two albums are all-time top ten worthy, the third album is very good, and their fourth album is a classic as well. They’re way, way, way better than that cover and than their reputation would indicate.

Those three Meat Puppets and the Sunbeam one off MTV Unplugged. WTAF Kurt, every song you wrote is better than these four.

The Lead Belly cover is outstanding and the Bowie one is decent, although if we’re honest I’d never take it over the original.

this version is good

Bloody love that cover of some velvet morning

I’m a counting crows defender but let’s not go fully off the deep end

Aereogramme’s cover of Thriller:

Their cover of the Flaming Lips’ Lightning Strikes the Postman was good though

Ooft

Surprised there’s any room for CC with all the pumpkins and corgan solo records in that top 10

That’s how good they are! It’s as if the king himself wrote them!
