Oh no…

At least Smith didn’t catch Root.

3rd umpire will be sat there with his ruler against his TV screen…

If anyone was in any doubt, three days of attending test cricket is actually very tiring and I sincerely regret not having today off work.

Hopefully none of the Australians I work with remember to turn the tv on until it’s over. That’s probably pretty unlikely though.

Way to go Aussies! See you in Adelaide

Bancroft should nut Bairstow on the way off

What shall I spend my £75 on everyone? Betting on an Aus win in Adelaide?

The correct answer to the Jake Ball wickets conundrum was one. A solid 1-115 for our boy Jake. Could well be his only wicket of the series given that he went at 4.5 per over too.

Well done to all those who said one, especially me.

If you are going to bet on Australia winning in Adelaide I would personally say you may as well stick it on 5-0. Obviously it would depend on the manner of the victory but I would think it would be quite likely.

Does that mean that match actually made his Test bowling average worse?

Well, if you want to be pessimistic about these things, then yes, it got worse by 0.33. I prefer to think that he equalled his best ever wickets return in a test.

Some Wonton levels of trolling by the Professor here

Very reasonable point. Hopefully they let him have another go in Adelaide, because I think it has the potential to be the setting of many personal records for him.

Root seems to lack concentration to turn a 50 into a long innings ATM, which means we’ll be mullered
