Am I the only nerd who knows that phone numbers used to be based on letters originally (at least, the first part was):

I remember when you didn’t need to use area codes for local calls, and depending on how many numbers were on the exchange you could have four or even three digit numbers. I lived in a four digit area but I know people who just had three.
