Culinary Lies

This isn’t a culinary lie but more something that puzzles me…

Diet Coke has no effect on me (but presumably has the same caffeine as regular coke)
Full sugar soft drinks don’t really have any effect
Full sugar coke sends me a little bit mental with palpitations and shakes. What gives? :woman_shrugging:

If I can’t be flanged I just do an oven one.

(I’ll never get over Macho Grande)

would like to hear some home truths about the chicken business from the big lad’s time managing a chicken kiev factory.

what’s an oven risotto? does it get a skin on it like rice pudding?

No skin. Stir it halfway through and at the end. You obvs have to fry your fryables first (and the rice) then just bung it all in a dish with stock and give it 35-40 minutes.

I’ve seen someone just dump all the stock in with the rice and leave it for 30 mins.

It looked fucking awful.

“2 cloves of garlic”

home cooking CAN be cheaper, but for those with the least money it often isn’t

cooking times for potato products (oven chips, potato waffles, etc), always wildly wrong

500ml bottle of coke ‘contains 2 servings’

you know I might give this a whirl next time there are no vegans around and I’m cooking (vegan food has lots of lovely dishes, but I really can’t face a vegan risotto)

Time to get a new oven, ramones
