Nothing currently, we’re all pretty chilled. Might get a bit testy in a fortnight when the boss and bossess are both on holiday for a week. Only recent drama is one of the KPs boasting rather openly that he lost his virginity at the weekend, which led to good natured ribbing (for her pleasure) from everyone cos none of us needed to know.

I can’t even get started about shit here.

I did call someone out on being a bit of a knob yesterday to a girl who was leaving. He was basically saying in an insanely patronizing way "You do know that when you get a new job, its because someone else did that job before and hated it or the company so much that they left?"
and she was like "no its a new role out of company growth"
and they were like “oh right so you’re gonna have nothing to do for the first 12 months then they’ll probably let you go”

so I chimed in and gave it some
and they said they were just being realistic and when i’ve lived as long as they have and have as much life experience as they have, then i’m allowed to have an opinion about this

i just said ok i’ll continue to live

A colleague has refused to go out and work (for a 3 week placement) in Saudi Arabia on ethical grounds because he doesn’t want to support regimes that fund terrorism.
He dropped this bombshell (steady) 2 weeks before work is due to start, after he’d already agreed to go and has his visa sorted.

My manager is less than impressed. - “I think he’s being silly and needs to grow up.”

Simon the spider, who built a web between my 2 monitors is missing, presumed dead. It cant have been the cleaners.

Someone emailed me to say a new bizziness process I was part of implementing had gone the worst she had ever experienced in 10 years, but didn’t stipulate she meant worst, so I pretended she meant it as a compliment and said Thanks in my reply LOL. Helps if you do your job properly adn not blame everything on the system, ya twat!

It was going to be ‘Content Creation Co-ordinator’ but everyone thinks that makes them sound like pen-pushers. I sort of see that because it sounds junior and we’re actually all reasonably senior, but it’s so tiring to give any sort of shit about it.

I had my job title changed to ‘product specialist’ recently.

Not really, and it doesn’t describe the work we do. I mean, we do manage projects but it’s also a strongly editorial role. I might just change my role to ‘King of Sweden’ instead…fuck it.

A colleague who isnt a native english speaker has ‘corrected’ loads of my writing again and it makes no sense now, which means i’ll have to work more than theyve budgeted for which means angry people. Great. No way this isnt going to get awkward as fuck.

A couple of the drivers who are a bit loud and laddish were at the desk, being a bit, well, loud and laddish with me and my colleague. Nothing aggressive, just dicking around like. Manager from another department thought some beeves were kicking off and came over and gave them an ear bashing about their behaviour being unacceptable.

“It’s fine. That’s just what they’re like”
“That’s no excuse. You shouldn’t have to put up with it”
“No. Seriously. They’re fine”
“Well I don’t think it is”
