uses magnets basically, rather than thermal conduction (?) for heating. means loads of pans won’t work on them.

no but a good way to tell if your pans will work on an induction hob is if they’re magnetic. if they are: YES THEY WILL WORK

An induction hob cooks by magnetic induction instead of thermal conduction. As long as you can stick a magnet on the pan its fine, infortunatly ours aren’t.

Got this laptop about this time last year. Really pleased with it. The form factor is really impressive. The webcam is in a weird place but I’m happy to sacrifice that for how brilliant the infinity display is.

If you notice any issues with wi-fi being slow on battery you need to play with some settings that are hidden by default. you need to change the following registry key to “0”; “HKLM>System>CurrentControlSet>Control>Power>>CSEnabled=1”, and then reboot. Go into the power plans and change your wi-fi settings to max power even on battery. Then you can re-enable Connected Standby and should be hunky dory from then on.
