I fancy doing a quick spontaneous French :bike: adventure in the next few weeks:

cycle down to Newhaven after work, get overnight ferry to Dieppe
do a ~200km flattish ride, eating fucking loads of pastries and drinking coffee
completely passing out on the ferry back and then cycling home from Newhaven

sounds fun, right?

but unless you’re one of those crazy people who can sleep literally anywhere, then stump up for a cabin on the ferry cos 200km on no sleep will not be fun at all (august ferry crossing are probably $$$ as well and full of bratty kids)

think the ferry crossing is the same ££ for foot / bike passengers regardless of when you book. did 120km straight off the overnight ferry with no cabin last year and was okay, think the key is just to keep cycling innit cos i was like a zombie when we arrived in beauvais

Guys the shoes don’t fit.

Only joking, trying to add some more drama. They fit perfectly. Looking forward to falling off my bike a lot while trying to get to grips with clipless.
