I’d kill for a 20 mile round trip countryside commute.

My LBS have had my bike since last Friday. They were giving it a full strip down and rebuild (+ service) on Tuesday, I’d not heard owt on Thursday (!) so I called them and they said it was nearly done. It’s now Saturday and I’ve not heard anything AGAIN.

They’re nice chaps and that but christ this is making me anxious. My fault for saying I couldn’t pick it up until today anyway I guess. Urgh.

It’s alright actually. Mainly town/city, but going in the opposite direction to everyone else so my side of the road isn’t so busy.

Take a more leisurely route home which takes me down the side of a (muddy) river though which is pleasant!

I am finally going to get some new wheels.

Narrowed it down (at the moment) to:

or

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/prime-pro-road-wheelset-black-91011-speed-shimanosram/ (<price:weight seems v good for these and the few reviews I can find are pretty positive)

Mavic / Fulcrum don’t seem to offer much “better” for around the £300 mark (plus, they’re boring aren’t they, cos everyone has 'em).

As whatever I’ll get will be tubeless-compatible I wonder whether I should try that as well. Can’t be arsed really, but I should probably make these my “summer” wheels and as such get some nice new tyres at least.

Camp Zonda? Cero AR30?

Feels wrong having Campag wheels without a gruppo, somehow, but yeah, they’re cheap enough and have great reviews.

Forgot about Cero. ARGH.

The cero review better than campy. (I’ve been looking at wheels too :expressionless:)

So light! Less than 1.4kg. Amazing.

Ah fuck it this review might have confirmed it for me:

Also read some reviews saying they’re loud. SWEET.

Those Hunt wheels do seem good - I’ve ridden with one of the owners (and his dad!) and he seemed a good sort. Feel confident they would look after you well if you get any issues

Yep, I’ve heard nothing but good stuff about them.

This is such a minefield. It seems I have a lot of options for around the £300-350 mark, all of which would be decent. I have had my eye on a pair of Hunt wheels for a long time as well.

OH I JUST DON’T KNOW

With choices like this I generally go with the thing that will make me happiest when I look at it (within reason of course). The memory of how much you spent soon fades!

Ah that’s such a good way of looking at it (god it’s the Hunts isn’t it)

TYRES then, otherwise I’ll just get another set of the very cheap Lifeline ones I’ve been running for ages?

or am I going to go Tubeless?

I hated my old one but really miss it now obviously

oh I’ve just remembered I have some spare Rubino Pros in the shed, so I will not be getting new tyres.

Also after the tubeless faff © with @japes’ bike in the Big Madge it’s probably for the best

i’m going to give it a go on my singlespeed i think

I’d like to but given I am a weakling who already struggles with re-seating a tyre I’d probably be terrible at attempting some sort of fix on a tubeless tyres on the road. Obvs the whole point is that you shouldn’t need any kind of fixing while out riding but you never know.

Also I have an impeccable p******* record
