Give it a go. What’s the worst that can happen? 29 and walks will tell you that it’s a lot of fun

quite.

:+1:

you joking? fucking do it!

this is what literally everyone has said

better get on and buy that new bicycle.

This makes it sound like someone sidled up to you in a pub.

Depending on the type of racing, it might be an idea to use the red Triban once you have the new one. Saves wrecking the new bike

excellent idea

though not sure we have the space for all these bikes

Cat 4 races are notorious for wrecking gear. A mate started racing in uni for Exeter, went through a wheel roughly every fortnight

you’ll have to move

Go for it! Womens 4th cat looks a great bunch of lads fun. Crits, right?

yep

we learnt recently that Dulwich Paragon have a nickname for Penge CC which is the ‘Anerley Amblers’ so we need to start showing them who’s boss

Guys, please give me some multi-bike advice.

Should be getting a road bike (probs the Triban 500 SE) in the coming weeks, question is should I get rid of my single speed Foffa? My commute is a 5 mile round trip per day, should I keep my single speed for this purpose? Will a short commute on my road bike fuck it up somewhat?

I’ve got space for both bikes so that’s not too much of an issue.

keep it if you’ve got the space

it won’t fuck it up really as long as you clean it regularly

i also have the same problem, apart from really we don’t have room for 6 bikes. if i get the ultra 700 af i’ll have to get rid of either the triban 3 or my single speed. i really like the single speed for commuting as maintaining it is so easy and i don’t care about locking it up outside all day, but i want to keep the triban for winter rides / possible racing / if i ever get zwift. what to do, eh? new flat does have a shed but it is slightly falling down and wouldn’t be surprised if anything i left in there got nicked.

what’s the issue then? just keep them both

Oh man, I’m not sure what’s best now. Maybe I’ll keep it knocking about but use my road bike for the commute then. If something happens to it at least I’ll have a fall back.

I forgot to mention one will be kept up 2 (two) flights of stairs so will have to lug it about a bit (this isn’t really a huge gripe mind).

I’ll keep both!

you’re as well keeping them and see how you get on. if you find you stop riding your ss then you can flog it. i imagine you’ll end up keeping both though.
