It serves a function, but when better gearing is available for not much more money I’d avoid it.
Also the Maddux wheels that came with my CAADX were totally crap. Had to have both rebuilt as they were popping spokes for fun
I’d avoid a Claris groupset but tbh the groupset on a 500SE is some Microshift thing isn’t it, probably hardly any better, but the bike gets insane reviews so I’d go with that.
For the Triban? Yeah I think I’m pretty much sold on that now. Think I’ll pick it up in March and use the London to Brighton route you sent me on #olddis for a charity ride in the summer. Gonna raise money for MacMillan in honour of my ma-in-law and then get absolutely shit-faced on the coast in honour of my ma-in-law.
