I’m buying my first pair of bib shorts tonight. Got plenty of padded undies and shorts but the rubbery saddle on my Triban means it pulls them down over time.

I’m doing that with all my existing jerseys (I’m fat). Doesn’t really work.

Isadore kit looks lovely, so probably worth the expense. Do it

get it off there and chuck it away – a Charge Spoon is a good alternative but saddles are quite personal things so you might find it doesn’t suit you

Charge spoons, carbon forks.

Aye I might fuck it off down the line. Didn’t realise how cheap a saddle the Charge Spoon is!

honestly I dumped the saddle on my new one almost immediately – they are shit and I find them really slippery. Charge Spoons on all my bikes now.

Cycling people, I want to give my bike a full respray to celebrate it being a year old and being a loyal servant over 5,000km, it’s getting some upgrades and I want to get rid of all the shit decals and stuff.

I don’t want to spend £200 doing it though.

I know people that used to go to Armourtex in Hackney, but it looks like it’s moved to Edmonton and they haven’t replied to me which means I don’t know if they do bike resprays anymore.

Anybody got any suggestions??

I don’t know the answer to this question but whenever I’ve thought about getting the Triban resprayed, Vaz Finishes always came up in my searches. They’re Lewisham based.

EDIT: linky:

not really any idea but wouldn’t have thought you’d be able to get it done for much cheaper than £200, especially if they’re prepping it / removing decals and the like

(no real experience with that kind of thing though so what do I know)

thanks guys. Yeah £200 is the top end of the scale, i’ve seen good quality for around the £140 mark, which is still more than I’d choose to pay but i’m guessing you get what you pay for.

just ordered my bike.

£200 is pricey for a bike I’d say…

wait what!!! FOR A RESPRAY!!! WHAT???

Excellent.

(when’s it arriving?)

Yeah they look fine for city riding, though I prefer universal mount ones these days rather than clips or brackets like the rear one you’ve linked to has.

how come? is the first one a universal mount one then?
