I have my bike :grinning:

The guy went to the wrong place so I had to walk an extra half hour to get there, but the thing is an absolute beauty and I cannot believe it only cost me £72! Had a stressful time before I even left the house so forgot my helmet, but I gave it a bit of a ride on the cycle path for a stretch and it felt so nice. Toe clips will take a bit of getting used to and I haven’t tried shifting gears yet. I only went into two hedges, so that was ok.

Don’t actually know when I will be able to get out on it because of this week being half term, I really can’t wait to give it a proper ride though.

Turns out I forgot how to start pedalling, so that was the first hedge. Second I swerved to avoid an old lady with two little dogs and forgot I had brakes.

Will take some pictures when I get the chance a bit later.

Pretty much the perfect size, felt so comfortable! I was expecting the riding position to be a bit weird at first but it felt very natural.

that’s promising. i felt really weird the first few times i went on a road bike, so it’s good that you feel okay!

Looks in decent shape? Will probably redo the bar tape at some point. There are a couple of bits where the paint is scuffed off, do I need to do anything to protect that?

Nope, don’t worry about the paint chips n that, it’s fine.

Love replacing bartape

@anon26275971 sent me a couple of bottle cages along with some other bits. Looking forward to popping them on.

I really want to ride it now.

If I ever upgrade you van have first refusal on my bike if you want a Triban 3 back. Quite like the red tape tbh, will consider that when I redo it

I had been hoping for a black bike because my medium term goal is to be able to cyle to my LBS* (about 7 miles e/w) which is a Bianchi dealer and I thought I would buy blue bar tape as it looked like that might be one of the few things I could afford there. Obviously won’t work on a red bike, so I guess I’ll go there and have a coffee and go back :woman_shrugging:

*that does stand for Local Bike Shop, right?
