the Sufferfest seems to have totally stopped working in my laptop, wtf

@japes do you have a trainerroad referral?

Did my first post-quarantine state-sanctioned daily cycle today, and indeed my first ‘proper’ road ride of 2020. Legs felt well sluggish after a trip up AdZ yesterday, but I beat my PR up Arran’s biggest climb anyway  Kinda feel like I’m cheating on Zwift though

what’s actually the biggest one? the string?

The String (Brodick - Blackwaterfoot direction) is 2.9km at 6% ave. gradient (187m gain), The Ross (Lamlash - Sliddery direction) is 3.6km @ 7% ave. gradient (266m gain).

2yo nephew went on his first ride on his balance bike today. he refused to get off going up the big hill behind their house until he got to the top

might stick a fiver on him to win a grand tour

Gf is currently halfway towards Cap Formentor Lighthouse. First impressions are: the app is amazing!

It looks great, all the right metrics in all the right places. People cycling around you but not the weird chaos like in Zwift.
Little bit of faff getting it set up (you need a phone AND an ipad or laptop. it all works smoothly though.
Definitely up for a DiS group ride there one day…

Someone please give them a massive pile of money to draw more routes.

I’ll give this a whirl in the next couple of days

I think you’d have to start with Ventoux

Doing another Alpe du Zwift group ride (i.e. race but all in name) later in the week, so if they’ve got something flatter and pootling I’m there

did the Lighthouse ride, good fun.

Didn’t quite finish the route though because when I got back into town at the end I wanted to stop somewhere for a pint

Joined the turbo crew last week and been smashing out short Zwift rides in my shed. It feels like I’m not putting out as many watts as I expected … Maybe I’m just a weakling.
What’s the app with real climbs? Trainerroad?
Up for a group ride!

Then one I used is RGT (it’s free!).

There are others that use real roads with user filmed video, I haven’t tried those yet, not sure if they’re any good or a bit naff…

(The sufferfest has prerecorded video of races and roads and stuff to watch when you’re doing the workouts, but that’s a bit different again).

did a ramp test in trainerroad and my average speed is so low, I know it means fuck all but it’s really annoying me, and I’m annoyed at how much its annoying me

Might go back to the Sufferfest - even though my HRM keeps cutting out it seems to play okay now I’ve installed windows 10, plus I much prefer the metrics and workouts :man_shrugging:

your speed is zero mate, you’re indoors

i’m guessing it uses virtual power if you don’t have a PM?

yeah - I mean when it transfers the ride over to strava. I opened the Sufferfest at the same time and pedaled, and the power was similar but speed wildy different. it’s just irking me is all.

Bkool gives you the option of using footage but it’s a bit crap because you’re never going the same speed as it was recorded so it either stutters or is comically sped up. Also half the videos are filmed on motorbikes so you get loads of lean on every corner. I stick to the CGI terrains of proper climbs.

Edit: I know I keep posting about bkool like I love it. That’s not the case, I’m just stuck with it if I want to use my turbo with an iPad.

why’s that- because of ant+ or something?
