okay yeah that’s a bit shit

(you’ll have to adjust the height of the seatpost anyway, probably)

you’ll still have to rotate the handlebars, move the seatpost and fit the pedals (which is all really easy)

but i guess it’s more knowing that someone has given the brakes and gears and that a once over before it has arrived.

My bike came in bits direct from specialized, putting it together was probably the most useful bit of maintenance i’ve ever done (took me about 3 days though tbf)

I supported my LBS by letting them do it all for me

as @anon67149139 should definitely be an itemised PDI (pre delivery inspection?) note if this has been done.

knowing bike mechs, even if it hasn’t been done they’ll probably chuck one in anyway

edit: does it have a bell on ?? (ooer) think this is one of the test conditions

No. Nothing.

Also it’s bits like this that I don’t even know what the hell they are…

those are disc brake spares, you don’t need em

i mean you don’t need em RIGHT NOW

Thanks guys but I’m just going to hold out for the built version.

As japes said its the peace of mind knowing its been checked over by someone who knows what they’re doing

They work for Evans, that could be a big ask

i never got a bell on the last few bikes i got

thought it they were mandatory

Wahhh don’t say this

Nah the guy on the phone agreed that it should be set up. Not in bits.

it’s brake cable sheathing, it’s mega useful when you need to change internal cables…

Wait, have you now got THREE bikes? This is getting concerning.

i don’t mean to be a BW snob but the first step on this video made me LOL OL

edit: this does seem like seatpost is installed and they give you the rest of the tools you need for bars and pedals

Internal cablin’ guide. How far away is your nearest Evans? Get it delivered there, built, go get?

If you can get to Rosmalen tomorrow I can look the other way while you whip a Bianchi away :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

the red bit is a disc spacer. with hydraulic brakes you should never squeeze the lever when you don’t have a disc in the brake (ie when you have your wheel off). otherwise the pistons can pop out of the calipers and it’s a ball ache to get them back in. so if you’re travelling somewhere with the wheel off (say you have the bike in the boot or whatever) you stick that red spacer into the brake caliper so that the pistons don’t accidentally pop out. worth keeping hold of but i’ve lost all mine and you can always use a penny or just about anything instead so not the end of the world.

the yellow one is a bleed block which is kinda the same thing but you use it when bleeding the brakes. which i doubt you’ll be doing any time soon.

(that’s what they look like anyway)
