spare derailleur hanger is still in the post. hurry up, post!!

So now I’m off on holiday with the extended family to Norfolk in a couple of weeks. Because of complicated work reasons I need to leave before wife and kids so we were going to take two cars. However I’ve just seen its 165 miles from my front door.

Bearing in mind the fact that the furthest I’ve ever done in a ride so far is 80 miles…

  • Do 80 miles, book a travelodge and do 80 the next day
  • Just take the car
  • Try and do the lot in one day somehow

I don’t understand that angle and why they’ve rendered it hanging off a wall

Think it was in some VR/AR app and that’s just the screenshot from whoever broke the news

i saw that and i really don’t understand the point of it

like ‘hmm i’m interested in this bike, but i want to know what it looks like sitting in my kitchen first’

do your 100 miles and then 65 the next day

doing 100 miles will be much easier than doing 80 miles on consecutive days. doing big days one after the other is hard.

but also 165 might be too much of a jump to do at once.

Fuck doing 165 miles to the coast (IE, risking constant headwind) when you can quite easily break it in two.

So, when I was buying the Tarmac I was all set to pay the price on the Specialized store, but luckily saw it on sale elsewhere at the last minute. That saving was the equivalent of a pair of power meter pedals, so I thought, why not go all in and become a proper #powerwanker too? They’ve arrived already :open_mouth:

They’re Keo fit cleats and I’m used to SPD, so I’ve also ordered a cheapo pair of pedals for the Cannondale so’s I can practice the new clipping in technique and get past the ‘oh shit I’ve missed and I’m falling over’ stage before the Tarmac arrives

fantastic. they certainly get consistently better reviews than powertaps or the awful sounding garmin ones
