interesting i had heard the opposite, ie good for podcasts / audio books but not great for music. maybe that was from people trying them out running or something without the added wind noise of being on a bike?

sadly i think any sort of in ear earphone is out for me for the foreseeable future. been having chronic tinnitus in my left ear, and although the doc today said there’s a bit of earwax in there, it doesn’t feel proportionate to the amount of noise i endure on a daily basis. it’s not even ringing or anything, more vibrating whenever there is loud noise (ie. in ear phones).

I have the Aftershokz Aeropex bone conduction headphones. I mean yeah the audio isn’t up there with in ear phones but that’s to be expected. I used them for music when out riding/running all the time and I’m fine with it. They’re totally waterproof as a bonus and fit round my helmet.

On the subject of noise whilst riding, I was just out and was waiting in a two lane queue at some traffic lights. me on the edge of the left lane and a massive Travis Perkins lorry in the right. When the lights changed my lane set off, but the guy at the front of the right lane dawdled a bit, causing the lorry to let off his horn about a nanosecond after the green light.

And I surprised myself by how loudly I managed to yell “Shut the fuck up” at him.
