what’s the price difference?

I presume the sprint is a bit lighter but i’m not really sure why one would be wildly more expensive than the other (the aero bike might be heavier but will have had all the money spent on R+Ding the physics bits)

The Aria is actually 400g lighter but they’re both very light at 7.8kg v 8.2kg fully loaded

Their list price is pretty much the same but a place near me has 1 Aria left (which happens to be my size) and has knocked about €500 off the list price

What’s pulling me towards the Sprint is the slightly more comfy geometry, the disc brakes & also that it has wheel/tire space up to 32mm whereas the Aira is max 28mm

But €500 is quite a hefty difference for those factors

disc frame and brakes would typically be a few hundred more expensive than the rim option I think, across any bike.

28mm should be big enough for any road riding, unless sweden is covered in cobbles? I don’t think the major brands are commonly making 32mm road tyres (yet), so i wouldn’t worry too much about that.

Going on a very little “cycling” holiday tomorrow - train to Sittingbourne then ride to Whitstable, then spending a week around various bits of Kent; two nights in Whitstable, three in Margate and two in a shepherd’s hut (!) just outside of Canterbury. Trying to work out if I can get away with just my merino jersey. Probably won’t be riding every day and have precious little space in my saddlebag.

if i could have the roubaix frame but with the campagnolo drivetrain from the wilier, but make it 1x like the gravel bike then i’d choose that.

@Ella_Megablast watching a GCN film about cycling round the outer Hebrides and now I want to move to the Scottish islands. Can you sort me out with a job and place to live and that please?

Actually I keep seeing @tiltys Strava and I wanna go to IoM too. Am I allowed to just rock up there?

At the moment no not exactly. I think we’re still locked down to residents /those with family here, but I might be wrong.

However I deffo recommend when we do open up fully.

I have heard great things about cycling the Outer Hebrides. The tarmac is supposed to be good quality too, something we are sadly lacking here

We saw that Hebrides GCN doc. We’d love a ride around there, and the IoM, at some point.

Note to self: when planning a new route in Strava, if you select the “most direct” option, ffs remember to edit it to remove all the bits where it sends you the wrong way down a one way road, up a 10% gradient that you don’t need to do and through railway underpasses with loads of steps. :frowning:

Strava’s route planner is the worst one (or always used to be, unless they’ve massively improved it)

Komoot or ridewithgps are much better - with algorithms that select the most popular routes from a to b, more info about terrain types, cycle paths and that sort of thing.

Worth using one of those if you can’t be bothered with the extra faff of setting up more accounts. (they’ll both send routes direct to your garmin)
