Just went out for my first little 15k on the Sprint

it’s lovely

but there’s some tiny set up adjustments that need to be done & I’m not sure how; the brake disc is about 2mm out of alignment on the front wheel, the chain & rear derailleur tension are ever so slightly loose …

I went to the Bianchi service place near me and the queue for service is backed up till mid August

So how do I align the front brake disc ?

One of the easier things to fix, though it can take a bit of time to get it right.

What do you mean about the chain / RD tension being loose?

Any decision I make to go clipless will be contingent on those being available in a size 10.

well that was pretty simple. Cheers

what are you trying to say here Scagden, that I should cycle into the canal?

yes, sorry it’s a bit of a long-running theme here that any problem with a bike should involve it just being chucked in a canal…

It’s a tired ol’ trope but sometimes I can’t resist trotting it out.

Put it in the biggest cogs front and back and take a photo so we can see

By the way

It’s well nice having a good bike isn’t it?

Wait, that’s not so easy to see

Better?

That’s pretty fine - if it was me I might remove a pair of links (after checking it’s not too short) but plenty wouldn’t

Cheers. I think I’ll leave it for now

Well, I can’t ride at the minute and my crash bike has now been retired to the indoor trainer due to cost and possibility of cracked fork. So I’ll be thinking about a new bike.

Naturally a mate has just bought a Diverge and I’m envious. I pointed him in the direction of some red pedals since this was taken. I’d be lying if the diverge wasn’t on my list of potentials.

Don’t get the apex brakes

How come?

They’re shit

I like the diverge but would groupset-wise I personally would avoid anything other than top-end sram in the future

Actually thats unfair - the drivetrain is spot-on, its just those brakes i don’t get on with. At all.

I was aiming for a gravel bike next, but now my roadie is gone too I have to think some more. My mates diverge didn’t come with tubeless ready rims or tyres, so he added them to his order and now he has two sets of wheels. Fat tubeless off-road wheels and thin tubed tarmac wheels. This is tempting.

Cheers, I’ll bear it in mind

I mean, I know if you’re a real road warrior and you’re after the fastest bike then a gravel is a compromise. But I’m not that rider, I may never be, so a gravel expands where I can ride.
