Honestly don’t know the legalities but I’ve seen a few people riding their own

It’s just a shit show with these things. Doesn’t help that there’s 3 competing companies too so there’s just too many of them

And some of the Stockholm bike lanes are so separated that there’s not really anywhere to go to take evasive action. In one place it’s literally a choice between swerve into oncoming traffic or into the sea

I remember the same issues when visiting Copenhagen in 2019. It looks like they’ve banned dockless scooters now.

That can’t happen soon enough here

What I find difficult is the responsiveness of the escooters…

There are four levels in my mind… Cars, which can swerve but take a bit of manoeuvring to do so

Bikes, which can deffo swerve but usually just about stay in a straight ish line

E scooters which randomly pull out in front of you on a bike

Pedestrians who do whatever they want

well, the bike hunt goes on. I have a friend with a Lauf True Grit . Having had a closer look they are actually good value I think.

Starting at £2.4k. 1x SRAM groupset, £3k model comes with wireless and power meter. And of course you get the 30mm leaf spring on the front fork. the main problem is no bike to work scheme obv (direct from Iceland) and they don’t do finance…Oh and they charge different amounts for the various colours. But still, good bikes I think.

wow, that’s Pretty Good

If I was going to get one I think it would be that model.

Upgrade are the uk distributors for Lauf. They might be able to point you to a uk shop that could do a bike to work maybe?

I thought they only sold direct? I never even considered there might be shops with stock. I will investigate though…

I saw someone out with one of these the other day and it was gorgeous

hmm

They still list Upgrade as the uk distributor on their website - maybe it’s just to buy the forks (my mate works for Upgrade and has one of their forks on an mtb)

I’ll ask him now :grinning:

I’m pretty sure I saw a fork on wiggle so maybe yeah

tbh, even without bike to work I’m not ruling it out because at the minute my first choice was a Diverge Comp Carbon which is £4k before tax deduction. The Lauf is much better value. Without finance though I’m relying on credit cards…

That is gorgeous.

They are no longer the distributor it seems, direct only

How tall are you? apparantly he has a medium True Grit frame set that needs shifting still

Gonna be working on the gravel bike this weekend then

I’m unsure. The height guide suggests medium, but the geometry suggests a small when I compare to other bikes. I am having a chat with my bike fit guy this weekend to try and work out the sizes of the various bikes I’m interested in, so I’ll see what he says.

Last time I had a fit I was between 52-54. I ended up with a 54 but maybe felt it was slightly too long, and didn’t want to shorten the stem any more so stuck with it. Given I’m recovering from broken collarbone I’m erring on the side of more comfortable reach and just put a longer stem on if it’s too small/

I don’t get the impression the frame set is going anywhere - if it is an option let me know and I can put you in touch
