Where bounce in Dorset? It’s quite big

I was there in July visiting my mum on the Jurassic Coast. The coastal path over the cliffs from Hive Beach (my mum lives in Burton Bradstock) to Westbay…

…was closed because of landslides so that was a bit of a bummer cos it’s like this on top

…but we did a mix of touristy & local stuff. Lyme Regis, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Dorchester… that sort of thing

Some absolutely banging fish & chips in Westbay btw

Go to this kiosk in Westbay. Best batter I ever had

@whiterussian should live on this road.

Is Seaton in Dorset? Get yourself on the trams down there.

can definitely endorse @rich-t’s suggestions of the Square and Compass, plus Arne.

My brother lives in Dorset, don’t bother going to see him though, he’ll probably be out at work during the day.

Love that whole region. Have been to Corfe Castle and surrounding area for the Nuts In May experience. Swanage is a place out of time, good little bakery in the centre and some good parkland and sights not far outside it. Chez Fred in the Westcliff area of Bournemouth is the best chippie in the world.

been spending most xmases in lulworth since 2019, as my parents house is too small to fit the family. we rent one of these, and it’s right by the beach and is so nice during the winter. for someone who generally has a ‘everywhere is basically the same’ outlook, I always feel really blessed to be able to spend time there.

Bovington Tank Museum nearby too.

There’s a great Gerald Durrell story called ‘The Picnic’ about a terrible attempt by his family to have a nice day out at Lulworth Cove (set many years later than the Corfu tales where the entire family are adults.)

I also ate fish & chips in Westbay in July. I didn’t see @BodyInTheThames or his mum.

We stopped at S&E Fish & Chips on the recommendation of the lad working in the hotel we were staying at. The Bull, Bridport. Nice town btw.
