You won’t get that door open until close to end game and it is part of a very convoluted side quest which I never did on my first play through, so I only opened that door on my second play through.
The boss was further away than I expected. I’m not a huge fan of the agility tests at the top of the cathedral but the whole location was very Soulsbourne.
After spending three afternoons falling through holes in rafters I made it to the boss and almost took him down first time had it not been for the very disheartening second phrase. It eventually took me three attempts but I’m happy with that.
is that the bishop? three attempts is very good going if so, i think that’s one of the first big road blocks for some people. next one is worse though lol.
i beat owl dad v1 last night and then did the rematch with corrupted monk. classic fromsoft copy and paste is starting to bite a bit now. rematch with the monk, chained ogre, drunk blokes appearing everywhere, headless guys everywhere. and they love having every single major boss fight at the top of that pagoda don’t they? wonder how many more there’ll be.
fountainhead palace has been cool so far. always funny when you get to an area in a souls game where the sun is out and you’re like what the HELL man.
It took me loads more to fo the one before so it’ll average out over time.
The absolute flippin worst bosses of all time. They’re terrible! Oh… wait… yeah FromSoft, good call: let’s fight them over and over again. Great idea. Fuckheads
Still freaks my nut out to this day etc etc
Fuming just thinking about them all over again. Eurgh
I don’t think I fought a single one. I read on here not to bother so I didn’t. Thanks thread!
Up to the penultimate boss in Blasphemous 2 and just don’t think I can be bothered with it. Everything else has been so beautifully tuned to not be an overburdensome challenge, but this guy is fucking lethal and is souring an otherwise pretty perfect experience. Pah!
Any tips for isshin sword saint? Got so good at the genichiro phase that i often do it hitless but never even gotten close to one deathblow on ISS.
My tried and tested formula for the first phase is hit-hit-dodge left- hit-hit. Second phase is basically staying in the game while being front-footed cos his stamina regenerates so quickly, getting in a couple hits after a mikiri. Third phase you’ll be fine
I’m fighting the bunnies.
I’m finding it easier to do it solo rather than summon but still haven’t got past the fourth sibling.
Just gotta learn the moves and get good, isn’t it?
Yep, it’s all about that muscle memory and learning the move sets for that fight.
Yeah although all the NPC fights are a little bit jank and fishing for backstabs works like its DS1.
Properly moved Lords of the Fallen onwards this evening, was stuck not knowing where to go for ages but it’s clicked and opened up nicely now. Put down a few bosses too, really good stuff.
Glad it is clicking with you now, there are some brilliant areas and the world design is great. Solid boss fights and the umbral mechanic means for me this game should be getting a lot of love as it gets a lot of what it is going for right.
I will be playing through it again some time this year to use the new class I unlocked and try to get the 3rd and final ending to the game.
This Isshin fight has completely killed any enthusiasm I had for this game. Oh well.
Is silksong out yet?!
I beat The Bunnies.
Got a bit lucky with Fable and Fatal attacks but they’re down.
LotF is great although I the bosses have been too easy, Crimson Rector Percival one way, and Ruiner the other way have put and end to that. Nicely difficult now.
