Absolutely loving Wuchang Fallen Feathers 12 hours in and theres’s something really great about it. Magic is used quite easily for someone that never really uses magic in Souls (and Souls-like) games. I tend to flit from game to game - but Wuchang has my full focus and that doesn’t happen other than the mainline From games. Areas are fantastic, inventory isn’t overwhelming, every item has a true and clear purpose. Enemies are great, Bosses even better. High praise from me.
the passwooooord and also the trigger for the DLC both lie in killing Vicar Amelia, correct? It’s such a poorly optimised fight it’s crashing a lot for me. I remember playing on PS4 and it would bottom out constantly. Hopefully I can get through it before it crashes.
One of the bosses I truly feel bad for killing, it’s so sad
Yes to both of your questions.
Enjoy your time in the Hunter’s Nightmare and Forbidden Woods, eventually.
It’s done. I abandoned my careful approach and went ham on her legs and got the stagger. The skull on the alter belongs to the horse boss, right? Recognise that abomination any time
It’s the Skull of Laurence the first vicar of the Healing Church rather than the horse boss according to item descriptions, but it definitely looks like it should belong to that boss.
I shudder at the very name!
clearly I’m a fraud!
I can’t decide on a weapon to stick with. The hunter’s axe is so versatile and I like that spin2win R2 charged. I also got the burial blade from a chalice but I’ve already beat the game with both weapons before. I dipped into the DLC and grabbed the beast cutter but I don’t love the moveset, it feels really slow
game looks impossibly good. 60FPS 2K. just buy the fucking IP off Sony and we would pay for this port.
Still absolutely loving Wuchang Fallen Feathers, has the feels of the first play-through of Bloodborne and that is exactly what I want in a game.
World inter-connectivity in Wuchang Fallen Feathers is the best I have experienced since Dark Souls 1. I thought the world design was great before tonight but this evenings session has elevated that more. Barely pushing the game on at the moment as regular enemies, unlike say LOTF, put you down on a regular basis. Rapidly become a real favourite of mine.
I thought it was essentially a boss run game? But there’s a proper map rather than arenas? How does it all work?!
Not seen a boss today. Areas are great and so slickly connected with a lot of wow factor. There’s no actual map on screen or anywhere, much like Dark Souls. Almost certainly the best Souls-like I have ever played. Only 20% in at 22 hours. Would recommend.
Ah cool, don’t know about those elements to it. I am feeling tempted by your write ups!
It has the feels of being somewhere between Dark Souls 1 and Bloodborne, and that is a perfect place for me. Really loving it.
Finally learned how to farm in Wuchang Fallen Feathers, needed to learn that too as I’ve hit a Boss with serious Malenia vibes (and power). Me learning to farm in a game I adore is a dangerous combination, just been running all the past areas for two evenings now, probably will chance my arm (fitting in this game re the feathering) on the new Boss tomorrow evening now. Love this game.
Stuck on this Boss for half a week
She’s still standing. What a game. Love it a lot.
She’s DOWN!
