This is a tight decision for me. I kind of want to stick up for wor Tez because Cameron is such a quintessential public school boy with his oily ease in one-on-one situations, the relaxed, eloquent and friendly attitude that can only come from a life of zero obstacles and a thousand rich mates. Meanwhile there’s something almost endearing about May’s total inability to get on with other human beings, Mark off Peep Show-esque. Thought the same thing about Brown. And Cameron has done more damage, if only because he had more time to do it in.
On the other hand, that year or so where May was fully in control of this country gave me the horror far more than at any time during Nice Dave’s reign. She is such a hideous, unempathetic shell of a politician, a weathervane stuck to the top of Paul Dacre’s mansion. I think Cameron sort of kind of believed in a couple of socially progressive things.
