You think of all the opinion columnists they’ve supported for years and years who have absolutely nothing to say. Yup, it’s similar with Juliet Jacques. I can’t remember whether her contract was terminated or if it just became untenable for her at the guardian, but they much preferred to keep on dabbling in transphobia and commissioning the same old familiar faces rather than have an incisive and intelligent trans writer writing for them.

i can’t get my head around the thought process. like, he must be so sure that not only is he in the right but that people are going to agree with him? obviously there’ll be no repercussions, there never is, but it has to go beyond simply knowing he can get away with saying whatever he wants.
