Parasite is great fun, a proper knockabout farce that gets ever darker until no one’s laughing anymore. Even so, slightly surprised it won the Palme D’or.
Don’t Cannes juries often like social commentary stuff (though I guess it depends on the jury) - I Daniel Blake, The Square, Shoplifters and now Parasite all in recent years
The story I heard was that this year the voting was very split (Portrait of a Lady on Fire had been favourite) but Parasite hoovered up a lot of second choices and everyone basically liked it.
Nope, it was a unanimous win, first time since Blue is Warmest Colour x

Ingrid Goes West- I thought this film would be better if they had killed Taylor the Influencer’s brother and spent the rest of the film trying to hide the body.
