I guess that makes sense if they’re using Greenwich as a bit of an example so other councils don’t try it in future.

The idea of Gavin Williamson being in charge of schools rather than still being at one does boggle my mind

apologies for the sudden wig out. we’ve had to jump through hoops closing our ballet school down again, only for schools not to be closing any more.

genuinely the coucil’s fault on this one. they’re absolutely right to shut the schools but they knew from the very beginning they were going to get blocked. and to release the news on sunday night via tweet was such a shit move

The Government threatened up here during the summer or probably september after Andy Burnham started calling for it or to be given the ability to close schools. Think there was also a school in, I want to say, Bury that got threatened with legal action as well after trying to do it themselves.

The Tories are still whinging about The Crown ffs

Found out a friend has really strong opinions about how it should come with a disclaimer that it’s fiction. How do you come back from something like that

The mute button.

Pretty sure Thatcher was real. I’d have found her a lot funnier if I’d known she was made up.

Good news though she’s also real dead

I know trying to pander to these assholes leads to madness but don’t the closing credits of almost every TV programme and every film usually have a disclaimer along these lines?

I wonder what these pricks think of the ‘Based on a true story’ intro to Fargo??

Call them a snowflake.

Ask them if it’s really what’s most important in this current time

Like honestly why do they give a fuck what anybody thinks of the Queen? Is it one of those mummy issues things?

It’s all the usual Tory culture war bullshit, they have to keep hammering that button now constantly, they’ll be claiming soon that only the London elites watch Netflix and all the red wall voters can’t be having with something that fancy

They don’t even have computers anywhere outside of (their fantasy version with no poor people) Islington, you elitist.

…except for the students, unemployed, immigrants, and foreigners. Who’ve all got the latest iPhone.

There are absolutely no large council estates in the borough as well, if you think you saw one, you were just making things up.

Sometimes I’m almost slightly baffled how far this government will go to shaft young people:

No more school language assistants either.

Well, it’s not like the peasants need to learn any languages, it’s not like they’ll be allowed to go anywhere any more.

Oh FFS, I studied French at Uni and did my year abroad as a school language assistant. It was a great experience.
