I’m at my work xmas party on Thursday night. Will probably see the results at some ridiculously early hour with a hangover.

Can’t wait :frowning:

What that actually tells you is people who bet on politics are convinced about a comfortable Tory majority, and based on the likes of the comments on UKPR and Political Betting, I’m not convinced they’re taking a balanced approach.

The 2015 election night/morning was brutal.

Went out, completely missed the exit polls and had no idea because I was very-under-the-influence, didn’t think to check on it at all because I thought it would be a Labour/SNP coalition, only got 1 hour’s sleep at 7 or 8 in the morning, woke up and saw that the Tories had won, asked the person I was with to give me a lift home, had a shower, walked very quickly to get to a job interview in time, did the job interview, didn’t get the job. Shite day.

In a way, they’re all winners.

In another, more accurate way, the Lib Dems are not winners

TBF Xylo (and everyone else) - I think a vote for Labour can quite reasonably be interpreted as an attack against all Jews, and one for the Tories be interpreted as an attack on non-Brits from certain perspectives. I wouldn’t necessarily defend either position myself, but I think it’s a perfectly legitimate position to hold when you have personal investment in those communities.

Heard it from Camden mate

Just complained to the BBC about the headline of this:

Feeling so angry and frustrated and deflated.

honestly starting to believe this obvious bias is a psy-ops to get people on board with abolishing the BBC

Yeah, utterly depressing.

If I’m being kind I think this kind of thing is a part of the both sides / centre science shite that’s going on. Like the assumption is that one side can’t be undeniably worse than any other so mouths flap and headlines get written on this basis. Fuck everything and everyone

Knew I’d got it wrong

I said in my complaint “If 88% of girls passed an exam, while 0% of boys did, would you agree that ‘Children pass exam’ would be a misleading headline?”

I think it’ll narrow slightly as YouGov’s figures have l think narrowed marginally over the week their existing MRP is based on and the Lib Dem squeeze will likely pull most seats a little towards Labour…

I still think (or hope?) YouGov (in common with most pollsters) are potentially making some mistakes in how they’re weighting certain underrepresented groups in their raw data, but I don’t have a feel for whether that’s gonna make a difference come Thursday.

The broadcasters decided it wasn’t worth funding one as the result was expected to be known within a few hours.
