I wonder if the jump Labour had in 2017, between the final polls and the exit polls, is down to non-white voters only being taken into account right at the end

Often see people arguing with family over politics on Facebook, want to get involved but not sure what the etiquette is

Just don’t be disrespectful.

Those of us who are FB friends of @xylo have witnessed some brutality as an unwise commenter stepped up to his mum :grinning:

Reckon Borris not doing the interview is worse for him than doing it, as if he did it no matter how bad he was it would be spun as a victory, whereas this he looks unambiguously bad

WHY WONT YOU PICK A SIDE RUFFERS?!

They’ve promised to look at business rates, which is generally seen as the biggest issue for the high street (over commercial rents)

Business rates are causing real issues for high-street retailers and others. A Labour government will review the option of a land value tax on commercial landlords as an alternative and develop a retail sector industrial strategy.

At the moment high street shops pay huge amounts in business rates but people like Amazon do not. It’s a really outdated system.

Oooh, any spreadsheets this time? This election has gotten a bit stale for me but I’d be well up for some pivot table banter.

Don’t think he could even manage conditional formatting, let alone a pivot table, Eps. There is good tariff chat going on, though.

“oh no, not the Northern Irish economy!” said literally no potential Tory voter ever

It’s the undecideds, though - he’s hammering the message of Johnson as an untrustworthy shit in the hope that it resonates with enough people that they get off the fence.

The one that’s got my schoolfriend that runs his own business isn’t the wage stuff, it’s the change to how dividends are taxed and the increase in corporation tax - like he understands why, but it’s gonna cost him/his family about £5k, and they’re not well off.

Think I’ve still got him onboard the socialism express, but it’s been a tough sell.

I thought Tory voting intentions were pretty locked in by now? Higher amounts of “definitely voting Tory” than for any other party?

Think everybody that’s been paying the slightest bit of attention knows by now that Boris is totally untrustworthy. If bullshit had a face, it’d be his. But I don’t think anyone who’s still thinking about voting Tory cares - they want their Brexit or to stop the Marxist getting in, end of.

There’s still some people on the fence who it’s worth getting through to though. You’re right, Tories gonna Tory, but if anyone’s still in the wind it’s vital to bring them in.

you’re not gonna hit any of the 40% (4 out of 10 adults in the uk. ffs!!!) hardcore tories, but you might get some of the 10% or whatever lib dems

Reckon the Sun will go with “LET’S MAKE BRITAIN CORBYN-NEUTRAL” with a mock-up of the UK covered in a giant dome and little Jeremy Corbyns being sprayed out of a cropduster and bouncing off the dome (the dome is Boris Johnson)
