It feels weird hearing that song without him but I’m glad they played it.

Ah shit, I love Moon Diagrams. Going to have to make sure I leave in bags of time then, especially as I’ve got to collect my ticket from the box office.

The Crossing’s not a bad venue. I saw Parquet Courts there last year. It’s nice to have a few places pop up over the last few years.

I’ll be there Thursday too.

Presume the soundcheck is running late as they won’t let us in.

All that rushing around!

Oh shit, has it started now? That’s a little concerning

Yeah yeah. Moon Diagrams on now

That was predictably brilliant, could’ve listened to Nocturne forever.

Great and baffling chat as well, Bradford looks more like Bela Lugosi every year

Should clarify the Bela Lugosi comment is a reference to their excellent outfit, and has nothing to do with their Marfan syndrome.

Loved it! Finally got my Rhythm Group of God t shirt that I have been after for a few years

Thought it took a slight dip.in energy towards the end of the main set but aside from that it was excellent

I had to go home to relieve a babysitter - how good was the encore?

Cracking show, my ears are still ringing. As @Severed799 said, it lost a bit in the second half, but it was still brilliant. The on-stage bantz was extremely hit-and-miss. Thought Cate Le Bon was great too. Hadn’t really gelled with the latest album, but loved every minute.

Some poor bloke in front of me during Moon Diagrams (I was down the front towards the right speaker stack) was having serious issues with the volume. He was stood there with his hands covering his ears, until some kind girl handed him some earplugs. But even they weren’t enough for him. Just move back, mate!

Anyone else going to the Brighton gig tonight?

Really enjoyed myself at the Roundhouse show! Always happy when they play a bunch of material from Halcyon Digest (their encore of He Would Have Laughed was particularly epic with added violin!)

Their latest album seems to improve the more I listen to it!

hyped for thuuurssddaaayyy

trying to listen to as many albums in advance of said day as I can this week

Brighton setlist:

Death in Midsummer
No-One’s Sleeping
What Happens To People
Helicopter
Revival
Desire Lines
Sailing
Take Care
Dance competition with 6/7 audience members on stage - prize was a dog’s head trophy
Timebends
Brad chat - 20/30 minutes
Nothing Ever Happened

Some people got annoyed with the amount of chat but I enjoyed it. I guess most people haven’t seen DH as many times as me though. Bradford announced they were going to do a dance competition so around 6/7 people got up on stage then Brad presented the winner with a dog’s head trophy. That was fun. Anyone who left early missed them doing Nothing Ever Happened though.

Ha! I think that amount of chat and the dance competition would have wound me up too. There was just enough on-stage “bantz” in London for it not to feel like it was dominating the show. So much it fell painfully flat though.

I’ve only seen DH twice and they’ve both been this year, so it’s not something I’ve come to expect and I’m pleased it hasn’t been to such an extent as to put me off seeing them again.

There was an absolute tonne of chat last night in Brighton. And I loved it.
They were still on stage for 2 hours and the chat and the music were both consistently entertaining.

Have we had a roll call for the Manchester gig tomorrow night yet? Me and my partner are going - she was really in to Deerhunter when we met at uni, but hasn’t really listened to much since Halcyon Digest (but likes what she has heard, other than the new EP with Cate le Bon, which she hates).

Have avoided setlists so far - am torn as if it was just me going I’d like to hear more of the new stuff or pieces I’ve never heard before, but for partner’s partner’s sake hope there’s plenty of older bangers in there too.
