Definitely Maybe is as old today as Abbey Road was to Definitely Maybe

If you get my meaning. Stole this off an ex-Disser on Twitter.

That means we’re due a new rock revolution or something. Can’t wait.

Frequently irritate my girlfriend coming out with stuff like this. I love it though.

Posted this over on the music board the other day but Portishead’s Third is now as old as their self titled was when Third came out.

Imagine (leave it) being influenced by Definitely Maybe though. Embarrassing.

Somewhere out there are a bunch of 15 year olds rooting around in the attic, finding a bunch of dusty old “CDs”, asking their 40-something parents what they are, digging out a stereo and putting them in, letting those crunchy guitar tones wash over them and becoming inspired.

it’s funny I often feel like 40 is not too far away but then if I imagine the year 2027 it seems like a ridiculous concept that can’t possibly exist.

We’re as far away today from the opening of the Washington Cog Railway as the opening of the Washington Cog Railway was from the birth of Charles-Amédée-Philippe van Loo!!!

Remember having a minor existential moment the first time a band did a 20th anniversary nostalgia tour for an album I saw them touring at the time.

Can’t believe it’s already been two years since 29th August 2017.

On the bright side, we’re mere months away from the roaring 20s!
