I didn’t even order anything and I’m getting involved in delivery fury!!!
Someone walked up to my desk at work and dumped a load of packages on it right in front of me and then started walking away. And I know why he doesn’t say anything to me, because I’m going to say that he’s in the wrong place. Which is what happens and he says the name of the building next door, so I said that it’s for next door and he was suddenly angry like “WELL I’VE BEEN PINGED HERE”
I’m just like “no it’s next door” so he walks off in a huff and was like WHICH WAY??? and I said “EITHER WAY” cause you can leave this building either way and it leads to next door because this building is a circle and on both ways are massive signs saying the name of the building and he’s really angry and goes “FUCK OFFF” and I’m like, “no, seriously either way”.
I spend 4 or 5 days a week doing deliveries and I encounter the same rubbish systems as him but I don’t tell random people, who aren’t even involved in the delivery to fuck off
Used to work in a university library, and was constantly receiving deliveries that should have gone to other buildings, having delivery guys try and come in the wrong entrance etc. I sympathise with the (presumably) bullshit lack of good information the drivers get given, but it was well annoying. I once ended up trekking around the whole university for an hour looking for someone’s random parcel that had gone to the wrong place: fuck off!
Ordered some new glasses over a month ago. Usually up to 10 working days. Get a move on.

In fact, as it turns out, it doesn’t even fit through the letterbox. The postman gave it a couple of goes but then had to ring the bell.
Probably slightly churlish to say this, but it can be annoying when they’re too efficient as well. I ordered something with standard delivery on Thursday evening on the assumption it would arrive on Monday or Tuesday when I’m wfh and likely to be in the house all day. Just had a message to say it’s being delivered today between 11 and 12. Not the end of the world, but I was about to go out.
got at least 2 things just sat at croydon sorting office now that have been there for nearly a month. can i go and get them?! so infuriating
deep in delivery fury here.
work ordered me a standing desk two weeks ago from amazon. the day after, the delivery company’s (arrowxl) tracking thing said it was at the local hub. yay! a few days later it still said local hub. so i contacted them. they wouldn’t tell me anything as i couldn’t give them the correct phone number on the order. after a lot of back and forth it turned out there wasn’t a contact number listed on the order. eventually when i got through “security” questions, they gave me a delivery slot of today. great!
today arrives and i remember that yesterday i was meant to receive a text with a two hour delivery slot. so i contact them again. “oh, the delivery hasn’t been planned”. what! now it’s thursday.
honestly. how shit is this company? i have absolutely no faith that this desk will actually arrive, and in the meantime my back pain necessitating the desk in the first place is awful
Sister in law ordered my birthday present about 6 weeks ago. Was dispatched and then vanished without a trace. They’ve finally declared it as lost and sent another.
make sure all contact is made through amazon if thats where you ordered it - they usually chase it up not you - just get on the live chat
an added layer of complexity with this is that i didn’t order it - health and safety man at work did, and is shit at responding to my emails (and also said amazon were unhelpful), so i have no way of contacting amazon myself about it. highly annoying, knew i should have ordered it myself and claimed the money back.
if thursday doesn’t happen i’m going to get Really Fucking Annoyed and i will go back to H&S man / Amazon and shout a bit
Had an ominous email from Evri last night saying they were unable to deliver my item only an hour or two after it had been sent by the seller - like it hadn’t even been collected from the drop-off point according to their tracker…
Had a parcel “delivered” by Amazon yesterday while I was out. According to the email it was left with my neighbour, but they don’t say which neighbour. So I’m going to have to knock a load of doors later until I find it I guess. I’m quite irked.
Question for people ITT who have stress from stuff being delivered while you’re out: Have you ever had things sent to local shops or whatever instead? I quite like doing that for this exact reason…
My wife has started doing this quite a lot when she orders things. Saves a lot of faff and stress like you say.
I had an Amazon delivery a few weeks back that they just chucked over our back gate. No doorbell, no note

It’s a bit profligate, so might not be for everyone, but I hire a locker at a storage place nearby. It’s a small cupboard basically, about ten square feet. Just changed my default delivery address for everything to that, stuff gets delivered there, signed for by someone, and I pick up as and when.
Might seem a bit silly, but it used to cause me massive stress. We live in a block of flats and delivery drivers don’t want to go up the stairs, so parcels would be nicked. Neighbours would steal stuff, or stuff would get signed for by someone else and the awkwardness used to annoy me so much. I’d regularly have to queue for ages at the sorting centre on a Saturday morning to get stuff I’d missed, or I’d be on lates and get woken up early in the morning, etc.
I didn’t want to get a camera doorbell, and I’m not a fan of these parcel things that are plonked on every corner nowadays. I tried getting stuff ordered to shops, but it would go missing. I’m paying for something I could probably get for nowt, but I order so much stuff I think it’s worthwhile. Works out about a pound a day.
