Yes but it probably wouldn’t be a good idea

i also didn’t pay the extra to get a natural coloured crown which annoyed me when I realised how obvious it was, but then i realised i look half Terminator/half Pesci in Home Alone so it’s all good

Sadists.

Imagine.

I hate it, I see the hygienist once a year and one time I went I got so flustered on my way out of the chair I kicked the water tank thing in their sink over, it was a mess. I always end up crying in the chair, like silent tears going down into my ears as I lie down and my hands clenched on the chair. Tw: gross dental stuff I had a bad experience when my wisdom tooth was taken out in the hospital, the anesthetic didn’t work and I could feel my tooth being pulled out, I screamed for them for them to stop and they did but my tooth was half out. When I was 13 I had my last baby tooth taken out and they had to cut the gum but the woman accidentally moved a mirror over me while the gum was off and I saw my canine with no gum on top of it and that was as horrifying as it sounds

also, the last time we had a thread like this I posted in it and THAT DAY I cracked a molar

see:

My top right front tooth is the third one which has grown there

Literally sat in a dentists waiting to get a retained root extracted RIGHT NOW.

Wish me luck guys, and avenge my death if it doesn’t go to plan.

I finished Invisalign a couple of months ago :fist: As such, most of the high points of my social life of the past year were my monthly trips to the dentist…

Maybe I’ll ask about it next time i go to the dentist. I really can’t see me wearing them at work, I’m absolutely not up for brushing my teeth in the toilets so i can put them back in after lunch, that is not happening.

I’m out of the dentist now.

Folks: just go to the dentist, don’t do what I did and leave it 12 years between visits even when more than one of your teeth have cracked and broken in that time. It’ll likely save you a few deeply unpleasant experiences in the long run.

Still scared of and hate (and fancy?) my dentist, but that’s me done with treatment for 6+ months now, just nice little check-ups from now on :crossed_fingers:

Big twenty five year gap in visits from age of 10 (temp crown on front tooth after a face to playground collision) to 35 (replacement for temp crown and mega scour). Since then regular checks and root canal, three fillings and removal of buried wisdom tooth that had grown in sideways. Pretty sure it’s all a scam perpetrated by Big Dentistry.

Worry about losing any prominent ones, teeth are annoying in how fragile they can be - wish humans kept getting new teeth every few years like sharks (or is it crocodiles) only less pointy.

I’ve just started my invisalign treatment! Got the blobs on my teeth and my next 4 pairs of aligners today.

Can I plz ask you a couple of questions?

I was supposed to get braces when I was a teen, had a couple of orthodontist appointments and then just decided I didn’t want to add to the long list of things I was already being bullied for so didn’t go through with getting them. Gutted.

Had such a nice dentist visit recently (well, dental hygienist). Young woman who was super friendly and nice, not strict and judgemental like most dentists I’ve been to. Lots of positive feedback and friendly suggestions about what I could do better etc. Definitely going back there.

Thank you  (<—me in a year or so)

  1. We’re supposed to not drink anything but water while wearing them, but this is just so we don’t stain them isn’t it? Is it ok to have a cheeky glass of prosecco with them in if I wash my mouth out straight after?
Just, I haven’t been to the pub with friends for 8 months or so and I will definitely get overexcited and want to booze at least a few times this year and don’t want to prolong my treatment by taking them out for hours and having to wear them an extra day…

  2. Did you use Denture cleaner to wash them?
I’ve been doing that morning and evening and using a soft toothbrush and natural toothpaste to give them a brush (although they don’t really get dirty cos obvs don’t eat or drink anything other than water with them on)

My hygienist is BEAUTIFUL. I fancy him so much it hurts.

I don’t mind it. I had tooth woes for the best part of 3 years, and off the back of that I’ve been going for checkups/cleans religiously.

I’ve had loads of dental procedures but they don’t bother me, it’s never hurt. The worst is the hygienist and it’s just occasionally uncomfortable.

When I had to get an emergency filling I remember the dentist saying “it’s just a little prick” as he inserted the needle into my gum, whilst Mousse T’s ‘Horny’ was playing in the background.

So now you know.
