auld ma ruff’s house is pebble dashed in full on the side and then for some reason in decorative rectangles out the front

The big chunks look lovely too

Bet someone will come along and be like  um actually that’s not pebble dashing that’s stone flibbing  or something

think the only style of living building i don’t like is this:

imagine going home to a place that looks like an insurance sales office.

It improves insulation very slightly, but not to the extent that you’d use it as a justification for doing it.

It can make bricks more weather resistant, if it’s properly breathable. Otherwise it can trap moisture in behind it, which causes the bricks to spall via the freeze/thaw cycle. This is why you should use lime-based render and mortar rather than concrete-based.

It often is, yes, if it was installed before the regs came in about 20 years ago.

Very careful stacking

what can I tell you, I skim read!

Pray for @Steved

It’s fine if you don’t disturb it.

If I was throwing those stones it I’d stand much further away from the wall in order to make it look more impressive to anyone walking by. I’d also roar with every throw.

He said he picked bits off it!

i thought this was harling

whats harling then

Yes.
And have done it before.

guess the further back you stand, the more area you cover with one throw…but then the stones won’t be as dense

bit of an art

This is correct.

Pretty sure we were picking off bits of paint, we weren’t gouging holes in the ceiling. We absolutely would have done if our puny child hands were strong enough though.
