Beth but short for Bethany rather than Elizabeth.
I know an Elizabeth who insisted on being called Bella because she loved Twilight so hard but now denies that being the reason and claims she was always called Bella as a nickname (she wasn’t, she was a Betty).
Love referring to Jameses as Jim, love it. It’s usually their grandad’s name or something and weird them right out.
On the whole though English name diminutions have the stench of Conservative death all over them.
