Our game in March was a roaring success, with a 4 - 4 score line during normal time and a thrilling penalty shoot-out. So we will be doing this again, at the same venue.

Also note that we will play an international friendly against AFC Muswell Hill II on Sunday 16 June. More details to follow, this will have its own thread for singing up.

The usual blurb:

  • we play on a full-sized astro-turf pitch
  • changing rooms with shower and toilet facilities are available
  • 5 min walk from Caledonian Road tube station (Piccadilly line)
  • arrive at 3:30 PM for warm-up, tactics discussion, pre-match fags, team pictures, etc.
  • kick-off at 4 PM sharp
  • full 2 x 45 minutes and injury time + 15 min break
  • normal FA rules, but with rolling subs
  • one team will play in red shirts, the other in blue
  • everyone can participate, the skills on display are wide-ranging
  • if you prefer to just come along and watch, that is fine too
  • final teams will be announced in the week leading up to the game
  • 6 pounds per player will be collected on the day
  • post-match analysis in the nearby Hemingford Arms pub

Come on, you know you want to.

Put your name down by replying below.(unless you have already replied to my email).

It is unlikely I can play in this but the 4pm KO time has given me a sniff…

Rearrange your plans.

It’s my sister’s wedding…

(can’t make it as explained in the email - Hackney Half)

(I would have been running in this were it not for my Sister’s wedding, you’ll run right by my new flat given the new route!)

In my opinion, Hoogy should stop scheduling DiS footy on the same day as the Hackney Half every year

I am OUT for this one, but hope to be in for the Muswell Hill game.

I fractured my wrist in the last Reds v Blues game and have been out of action since, a slow healer!

You what? i don’t recall any incidents …

#11

Probably when shaking the traditional post-match champagne

In my opinion, you should inform me when the Hackney Half takes place every year.

#13

It’s May 19th this year.

#14

Too late now. What about next year?

#15

In my opinion I will strive to do this because I am committed to DiS footy and to you, our dear, beloved leader, Hoogy

I think I have crap bones… It was a 50/50 with Donovan that I was slower to get to (if you can imagine), I tripped over him and went through the air a bit, landed on the wrist. Obviously played on and went to the pub like the noted hardman of the game that I am.

Can’t you do what Jesminder did in the film Bend It Like Beckham and do both, and then score a winning free-kick for DiS?
