Whittington Park Football Pitch
Holloway Road
N19 4RS
http://www.better.org.uk/leisure/whittington-park-football-pitch111

The last one was very warm. But no one melted, so we’ll have another summer feast. Bring water & sunblock. Those post-match drinks gonna taste really good.

Note that there will no games in August, due to everyone being away on holiday.

The usual blurb:

  • we play on a full-sized astro-turf pitch
  • there are changing rooms and toilet facilities
  • 5 min walk from Archway tube station (Northern line)
  • 1 min walk from Upper Holloway train station (Barking - Gospel Oak line)
  • Buses 17, 43, 263 and 271 all stop at Upper Holloway train station
  • arrive at 3:30 PM for warm-up, tactics discussion, pre-match fags, team pictures, etc.
  • kick-off at 4 PM sharp
  • full 2 x 45 minutes and injury time + 15 min break
  • one team will play in red shirts, the other in blue
  • everyone can participate, the skills on display are wide-ranging
  • final teams will be announced in the week leading up to the game
  • 5 pounds each will be collected on the day
  • post-match analysis in the Landseer pub on Landseer Road (5 mins walk away)

Come on, you know you want to. Put your name down by replying below.

Pretty mean of the overground to upper Holloway to be down this weekend tbh

It’s like that every Sunday at the moment.

It’s a fucking ballache, is what it is. Turns a 20 minute trip into a 60 minute one.

Yup, it was actually part of the reason I moved to blackhorse road - I go to green lanes and Stroud green road a lot, my 5 a side is near south Tottenham overground, 11s next to upper Holloway. That line is theoretically perfect for my interests. Theoretically. Getting very irked by it now.

Fortunately it seems to only be closed on Sundays now - that’s likely to last until the end of the year.
