The list above is assigning 5 points for a 1st place, 4 for a 2nd place etc.

It was a low scoring race this year. Phoebe has a points total that would have been a Europa place in some in previous years. The number of contributors (146) was similar to last year, but more than 20% more albums were nominated this year (335).

The list below is a simple count of how many times an album appeared in a list, regardless of position. RTJ and Phoebe swap places. Bob Dylan jumps from 42nd place to 26th place. Perfume Genius from 15th to 9th. Adrienne Lenker and Protomartyr also beneficiaries of this list moving into the Champions league places:

1 Run The Jewels - RTJ4 (24 lists)
2 Phoebe Bridgers – Punisher (22)
3 Protomartyr - Ultimate Success Today (18)
4 Adrianne Lenker – Songs (17)

how do Sault do if their albums were to be combined? Also got the feeling the Charli XCX album had been forgotten or underrated, so glad to see it finishing up there!

Thanks @Prob500, really appreciate the work you put in year after year for this!

Good to see so many female artists in the top 10.

And here’s my favourite list (and hopefully yours): a league table of an album’s average score. Bright Eyes takes this year’s coveted Adebishi Shank award of the album liked a lot by a few people (3 x 1st places and a 3rd from the 4 people who voted for it)

This year also sees award of the inaugural Sheffield United award from drop off in performance. Idles, take a bow - 107 points and 3rd place for Joy As An Act of Resistance. 1 point and last place for Ultra Mono.

Over and out, that’s me done for another year (unless anyone has any questions/freedom of information requests. Off to provide some home schooling now, but happy to answer any questions later).

Please could we have a list of all the albums that scored exactly one point and, if there are any, a list of albums that were placed first on one person’s list that weren’t on any other lists.

Surprised to see Craven Faults not feature at all - felt like there was a bunch of people enjoying that at this time last year (a loooong time ago now in fairness)…

The Adebisi Shank award is the best part of the album of year lists

Thanks @Prob500, good work as usual.

Also, there’s loads of stuff here I need to give a listen.

Yay, Oranssi Pazuzu joint 3rd! :+1:

Think I’ve listened to nearly every album on this list which would have never happened in other years. If theres one good thing about lockdown its that I get to listen to music for 8 hours a day while I work from home.

Think my #1 might be amongst those - Jasmine Guffond.

on that note, quite a fall for Sufjan not to feature in the top 50.

hard to get points for an album that doesn’t exist

I’ve listens to that more than anything this year but somehow it never occurs to me to put instrumental stuff in my list (though in fairness I think I forgot to submit my top 5 anyway this time)

Well done and thanks again for dedicating your time to this. All three lists are very interesting

6/50 for me. There’s a few on there I’ve listened to but didn’t take to; I guess I’m fairly at odds with the voters this year. Good to see so many women in the top spots, though. Of the top 50 presented, Kelly Lee Owens would be my #1.

4 of my top 5 make the top 7. Not sure what that says about me. I have impeccable taste, or I’m Mr Average.
