Further transparency post:

@anon26275971 has forwarded on the balance, so the whole fund is now under my control.

In September the fund received 6 donations and made 3 grants, none of which were to a committee member.

One grant was above the usual upper limit and agreed by the whole committee. The fund is currently in surplus

The current balance is £3147.21

If you’re planning on making a donation for this month or have a standing order that hasn’t been updated, a reminder to get in touch for the new account details now I’ve taken over from Trickles.

Hi team,

This is a reminder people to get in touch to sort their contributions into the new account. @anon26275971’s had three donations through this month so far and between the two of us we’re not sure who everyone is.

He’s forwarded the money on, but it’d be great if we could save him the trouble in future

Cheers,
Zeal

Hey Zeal, is there a way of setting up a regular payment with you? Wasn’t sure if there’s like, a new way of doing it now you’re the fund holder. Thanks!

Yes. The fund accepts bank transfer, standing orders (preferred by me) and Paypal (if the alternatives are difficult to sort). Send me a DM and let me know what you’d prefer.

Who is best to contact about this these days? And is the max still £100?

Think this is still up to date.

Thanks, sorry for overlooking the obvious but not sure how up to date the thread is kept

I’m not sure about the max. limit, @colinzealuk would be the man to ask.

You can also @ DiSRainyDayFund to go to the group as that should just have the current committee

Oh thanks, so tag that name if I want a response from the members of it? Didn’t realise we had groups on here, good to know.

Yeah, you should be able to DM that tag as a group if you are happy contacting the whole group, at least that was how it worked when I was on the committee and I think it is the same.

I do think the list Funky highlighted is upto date though

Hello. Thanks @anon19035908 and @anon89873996 - both spot on with your info.

The limit is still normally £100, but we have been approving some larger grants this year owing to the level of the surplus in the fund and the knock on effects of the pandemic… on which note, I’ll get an update out on the status of the account later today - I’ve been a bit slack on that… sorry.

Know it’s in surplus, but let’s have a think about how we can boost the amount of regular donations next year.

Tricky time, isn’t it, lots of people are having to be very careful with the pennies, so only chip in when and what you can obviously.

Just had to go through this entire thread for admin purposes (after not having thought about the fund for a long time) and it melts my heart a little bit

Hi team,

One of our committee has decided to step down as they’ve been spending less time on the boards in recent months and feel the space would be better taken by someone who is generally a bit more active.

We’re looking for someone to replace them. You would be added to the committee list above as an option for people to contact if they need a grant and would be involved in any discussions about whether grants are appropriate (if they meet the rules in full this just means saying “approved”, there may be a little discussion if there are circumstances that don’t quite meet the usual criteria).

Ideally you would be on DiS relatively often or have notifications on your DMs so you can respond to things in a fairly timely fashion. We would also particularly welcome anyone who doesn’t fit the usual mould of white cis man, but anyone willing to put themselves forward is welcome.

 to follow up on the post above, we actually now have another space to fill on the committee. If you’re interested please ping me or any of the committee.

If you’d like to talk about a grant please do also drop any of us a line - we may be slightly slower to respond than normal but rest assured we’ll get back to you as soon as we can
