don’t think the vocals really need boosting though it sounds good in the mix to me

really like the gnarly lead guitar slides in this, very atmospheric!

that spacey lead synth is great, works really well with the groovy bassline. the whole track exists in that lovely space between major and minor with just the root and octave on the bass and the ambiguous melody. great stuff

Thank you for this. Will try that with the snare. It’s my digital kit as midi into logic, which I finally learnt how to map the other day!

I’ve never really done vocals properly on account of being bad at singing, but that’s very useful. Thanks for listening!

No worries hopefully you will have more to share with us at some point

Thanks Bam, that’s very encouraging for a total beginner like me to hear!

Really enjoyed everyone’s work this month

@kram - this is great. Works on so many levels. Think the playful nature of the animation ties in nicely with the childhood memories and the lovely wooden back drop is comforting in itself, and ties in with the whole tree thing. Also love how you move from something that is comforting on one level (hugging trees) to exploring childhood memories which I think most people would relate to as a comforting thing.

@Scout This just reads really easily, it feels kind of lazy and indulgent the way it flows (not saying it is lazy writing, I think that easy style is really difficult to pull off). Love the lines like:

All the music people - I found all the music comforting, so I think it did its job.

Here’s my attempt. I did it just as writing to start with, then decided it might be nice to put it in some blocks of colour :man_shrugging:
